Engineer Paul Ludwig Joins PureVision Team
April 18, 2006Fort Lupton, CO: PureVision Technology, Inc., a leader in biorefinery technology, welcomed Paul Ludwig to its technical team as Staff Engineer February 4, 2006. Mr. Ludwig has been active in the engineering field since he received his Bachelor of Science degree at Pennsylvania State University in 1959.
Mr. Ludwig brings many mechanical design talents and extensive implementation experience to PureVision. He is assisting the PureVision technical team with designing and building many different unit operations relating to PureVision’s biorefinery equipment. Mr. Ludwig’s diverse hands-on engineering expertise will add to the PureVision team capabilities including advancing the design and construction of a 3-ton per day biomass fractionation prototype reactor. Mr. Ludwig is also assisting with the construction of the biomass-processing laboratory located at the PureVision Headquarters in Fort Lupton, CO.
PureVision's patented biorefinery technology fractionates or separates cellulosic biomass into its three major components – cellulose, hemicellulose, and lignin. This novel technology differs from all competing technologies in the world today by producing a pure cellulose product stream and two liquid streams containing hemicellulosic sugars and unique lignin product in a patented biorefining process. This novel fractionation technique is on track to become the core technology for large industrial biorefineries, which will convert abundant and diverse biomass, such as corn stover, wheat straw and wood, into bio-based products in the near future. Analogous to oil refineries, biorefineries convert biomass into sugars and other by-products for use in the production of ethanol, bio-plastics, pulp and paper products, lubricants, sealers and many other industrial products.
Mr. Ludwig’s experience and knowledge will provide a valuable contribution to PureVision’s multi-talented team of scientists, technicians and entrepreneurs.
